The story of Kijo

Kijo are female oni that reside in remote areas. Though they resemble humans, these female oni are horned savages with unsightly faces and deadly claws.

Formerly human, these women turned into oni from grudge, hatred, and terrible crimes they've committed. They are known to utilize poison and curses upon people when they feel hostile.

These Kijo tend to lurk in the shadows of mountains and abandoned areas for centuries, while eating humans when victims enter their domain.  The hannya mask  represents Kijo in modern theater.
